In the modern world of technology, architecture is a profession with a different note transcending art, science and technology. It opens up the world of creativity and talents, offering a brilliant career opportunity at global level. Architecture encompasses the four fields of human endeavor -humanities, science, art and technology. The essence of architecture is creativity - designing of buildings and built environment to satisfy functional, emotional, structural and socio-economic needs. It is also concerned with energy conservation, ecology, environmental protection and heritage.

The education and practice of Architecture is regulated by the Council of Architecture constituted under Architect act 1972.Only persons possessing a qualification recognized by the Council of Architecture and who has valid registration with the COA are permittedto practice as an architect as per law. The successful completion of the program at MES School of Architecture ensures a degree approved by COA.

The under graduate program in Architecture, B Arch was started in MES College of Engineering from the academic year 1999 - 2000 with an aim to meet the demand of architects globally. The department is known as MES School of Architecture. It is also recognized by the AICTE and Government of Kerala. The B Arch program is affiliated to A P J Abdul Kalam University (KTU) with an intake of 40. The school has the state of the art facilities be it class rooms, studios, library, computer laboratories, material museum and so on. School proudly hosts an annual event ‘Envision’ under the aegis of Society for Students of Architecture (SSA) wherein students showcase their co curricular and extracurricular talents along with technical sessions.

MES School of Architecture is headed by its Director - DR. Prasanna T K, who has more than 2 ½ decades of experience in academics in the field of architecture.

Civil Engineering *


The AICTE has given approval for starting B.Tech degree course in Civil Engineering during the academic year 2007 - 2008 with a sanctioned intake of 40. Academic year 2009-2010 increased the intake to 60.

The department is currently headed by Dr. Syed Jalaludeen Shah. The department has a group of dedicated, experienced and well qualified faculty.

Our Survey laboratory and Material Testing laboratory are well equipped with most modem equipments. The department also offers testing of construction materials on a consultancy basis and issues test certificates to various Government and private agencies.

Computer Science & Engineering *


Computer science (or computing science) is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation and their implementation and application in computer systems.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering started functioning from the very beginning of this college. The department has well equipped classrooms & labs. Classes are spacious, well furnished & well ventilated for providing a good environment for students for learning. Labs are fully air conditioned & computers and peripherals are timely upgraded.

The department has 2Mbps broadband Internet connection in all the labs and staff rooms, which provides good academic support for staffs and students. The department has a spacious seminar hall, which has got good multimedia conferencing facilities.

The department library has got a large number of books and journals in computer science and engineering. Library also had back up volumes of the previous year's seminar and project reports for student's reference.

The department provides very good computing facilities for learning and research. Department has the following labs under its cap, Advanced Computer Center, Systems lab, Project & Internet lab and Microprocessor & Embedded Systems lab. The Campus Network Cell (CNC) under the Department Controls the whole networking and software solutions for the Campus. B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering started in 1999 with all India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approval. It is affiliated to Kerala Technological University (KTU) and accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It started with an intake of 40 students which later increased to 60.

The program also entertains a lateral entry for diploma holders as per AICTE norms in the third semester. In addition to this regular course, department endeavors to conduct various short-term and training programmes.

With good spirit, sincerity and devotion we are confidently putting all of our efforts and continuing our journey to acquire more and more knowledge.

It is needless to say that for quality engineering education, students and faculty must be definitely exposed to the latest technologies and recent developments that are taking place in the fields of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Information technology. The department is very much committed towards this direction.

The department started functioning right from the inception of the college in 1994 with an intake of 60. The B-Tech Degree course in Electronics and Commnication Engineering offered by the Department follows the curriculum and syllabi as well as the rules and regulations of the APJ ABDUL KALAM Technological University.

This course is of 8 semesters and covers a period of 4 years, strictly conforms to the AICTE norms and regulations. A Students chapter of IEEE is actively functioning in the department. Students Association of the department namely Association of Electronics and Communication Engineering (AECE) organises various activities benefecial for the students of the department.

Most of our day to day activity is driven and function with the help of Information Technology namely education, communication, food delivery, transportation etc. This provides a lot of job opportunity in IT field. Information Technology is a blend of Computer Science, Communication Engineering, Information Science and Management.

This course is a 4 year course (8 Semesters) that conforms to the norms and regulations of AICTE and is affiliated to A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). Department of Information Technology at MESCE established in 1999 was the pioneer in private sector in Kerala State. Our vision is to create high quality graduate engineers in Information Technology. The present annual intake is 30 students and the Department has well-qualified faculty members with good teaching and research exposure. Our laboratories are well equipped with high performance computers having high speed LAN.

The major laboratories designed for this course are Data Structures Lab, Programming and System Utilities Lab, Object Oriented Techniques Lab, Database Management Systems Lab, Operating System and Network Programming Lab, Web Application Development Lab, Computer Networks Lab, and Data Analytics Lab.

The Department has signed MoU with Philosan Farm Management, Bangalore and with Microclaculus Technologies Pvt Ltd which allows the students to have a close tie-up with the industries. In association with ASAP, Kerala and Google, the department provides platform for the students to take Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification. Students Association of Information Technology (SAIT) organises various co-curricular and extracurricular activities that are beneficial for the students.

Mechanical Engineering *


Mechanical Engineering is an engineering discipline that involves the application of principles of physics for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It requires a solid understanding of key concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics and energy. Mechanical engineers use these principles and others in the design and analysis of automobiles, aircraft, heating & cooling systems, manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, medical devices and more.

One of several recognized fields of engineering. To grasp the meaning of mechanical engineering, it is desirable to take a close look at what engineering really is. The Engineers' Council for Professional Development has defined engineering as the profession in which a knowledge of the mathematical and physical sciences gained by study, experience, and practice is applied with judgment to develop ways to utilize economically the materials and forces of nature for the progressive well-being of mankind.

It is a profession in which study in mathematics and science is blended with experience and judgment for the production of useful things. Established in 1994 with an intake of 60 students, the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, MESCE is currently having an intake of 60 students.

The program also entertains a lateral entry in UG for diploma holders as per AICTE norms in the third semester. In addition to this regular course, department endeavors to conduct various short-term and training programmes .

The Department has well equipped laboratories and computing facilities, with latest technology and syllabus requirements. The department faculty rooms and the laboratories are connected by the institute LAN linking with all other departments and the Internet world outside.

Well qualified faculty and skilled supporting staff are the strengths of the department.

Artificial Intelligence And Data Science


Artificial intelligence (AI) is a wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. In computer science, the term artificial intelligence (AI) refers to any human-like intelligence exhibited by a computer, robot, or other machine. In popular usage, artificial intelligence refers to the ability of a computer or machine to mimic the capabilities of the human mind—learning from examples and experience, recognizing objects, understanding and responding to language, making decisions, solving problems—and combining these and other capabilities to perform generic automation functions.

Data science is a broad field of study pertaining to data systems and processes, aimed at maintaining data sets and deriving meaning out of them. Data science engineers use a combination of tools, applications, principles and algorithms to make sense of random data clusters. Since almost all kinds of organizations today are generating exponential amounts of data around the world, it becomes difficult to monitor and store this data. Data science focuses on data modelling and data warehousing to track the ever-growing data set.
